October is walk to school month and walking is a great way to promote physical activity, reduce harmful emissions, and FUN! Southwood School is recognizing iWALK Month with a few special events! We will have three walk to school events with a different starting location for each date! Strong Connections will be held on September 13th and 16th. Parents can view your student’s Strong Connection date on the Parent Portal or email the teacher; if you have more than one child, all of your children will attend on the same day.

On June 26th, Southwood School will be hosting the annual school picnic. Students will spend half of their day enjoying the picnic games led by their classroom teachers. The Hanover School Division Festival of the Arts will be held May 29 – June 1 at the Clearspring Mall. This festival will showcase talent from all over Hanover School Division including some of our Southwood School student’s pieces. Wednesday evening, May 30th, is OPENING NIGHT! On May 23rd, the grades 3 and 4 students will be taking part in the Safety on Wheels bike rodeo program, provided by MPI. It is a two-part bicycle safety presentation involving both theory and practice.
