IMPORTANT – BOOK YOUR CONFERENCE APPOINTMENT

Student led conferences will be held on Thursday, November 28th. Once again, parents/guardians will be able to sign up for a half hour appointment where your child will lead you through their learning thus far. Appointments can be made using the Parent Portal now or by calling the school at 204-326-3518. We look forward to this exciting time for you and your child. The Scholastics Book Fair is Coming!!

Mark your calendars!  Our annual Scholastics Book Fair is taking place from November 25th – November 29th this year.  Students will have the opportunity to come and browse the book fair with their classes early in the week and then will have a chance on a different day to come make purchases should they so wish.  We will also be having our family night that will coincide with the student led conferences on the evening of November 28th.  Join us… Read More

Southwood School Christmas Caring Project

Costume Parade!

On October 31, Southwood students are once again invited to participate in our annual costume parade. On this day, students will be getting dressed during the second learning block (between 11:55 and 1:10 pm) in preparation for the costume parade. Southwood School Christmas Caring Project

We would like to thank you for your support with Drive Away Hunger in October. We have another caring project that we would like to share with you! We are planning to help out the  Steinbach Community Christmas by collecting items to fill their hampers that will be delivered before Christmas. FCC Drive Away Hunger

From October 4-17th the students of Southwood School collected non-perishable food items for the FCC Drive Away Hunger campaign.  All food collected was given to the South East Helping Hands to be distributed to families in need in our community.  On the day the food was picked up, Mrs Healey’s grade four class got to work bringing all the food to the Learning Commons where they weighed each bag and recorded the weight to be tallied up.  They then took… Read More

Mr. Kehler and Ms. Johnson Go Pink!

Mr. Kehler and Ms. Johnson promised to dye their hair pink during an assembly if the school was able to raise at least $1500.00 for the 2019 Terry Fox Run.  Since our grand total raised far exceeded that, bringing in $2212.00 for the cause, first thing on Monday morning the students all gathered in the gym to watch the transformation take place. Terry Fox Finale Assembly!

Please note that we will be having a special assembly on Monday, October 7th at 9:00 am to celebrate our school’s Terry Fox Run fundraising efforts.  We raised a grand total of $2212.00.  Way to go Southwood School!!
