HSD Festival of the Arts

The Hanover School Division Festival of the Arts will be held May 29 – June 1 at the Clearspring Mall. This festival will showcase talent from all over Hanover School Division including some of our Southwood School student’s pieces. Wednesday evening, May 30th, is OPENING NIGHT! Bike Rodeo

On May 23rd, the grades 3 and 4 students will be taking part in the Safety on Wheels bike rodeo program, provided by MPI. It is a two-part bicycle safety presentation involving both theory and practice. In part 1, the students will learn about rules of the road (signs, signaling and safety tips), helmet fit, bike fit and bike condition. Recycled Fashion Show Challenge!

During the month of April, classes will work together on their collaboration skills to design and create one of a kind outfits that use recycled, reused or re-purposed items. On Monday, May 6th (Global Day of Design) at 2 pm, classes will be modeling their masterpieces during our Recycled Fashion Show with Special Guest Corny Rempel!

The Learning Expo: Celebrating Our Stories
